How to Set $JAVA_HOME environment variable on Mac OS X

$ cd /Users/caiomsouza
$ vim .bash_profile 
 
Adicionar a linha:
export JAVA_HOME=$(/usr/libexec/java_home -v 1.7) 
   
$ source .bash_profile
$ echo $JAVA_HOME
 
Result: 
MacBook-Air-de-Caio:~ caiomsouza$ echo $JAVA_HOME
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.7.0_45.jdk/Contents/Home
MacBook-Air-de-Caio:~ caiomsouza$ 

MacBook-Air-de-Caio:~ caiomsouza$ java -version
java version "1.7.0_45"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_45-b18)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.45-b08, mixed mode)
MacBook-Air-de-Caio:~ caiomsouza$
