Saiku 2.2 is Out Now! It is an amazing news!!! It is stable and we can use it at our production environment.

I still remember the day I talked with Paul and Tom, in 2009 in Barcelona, Spain, about PAT, that now is called Saiku. I was so excited that day that they were doing the PAT/Saiku project! I told them about our desires in Brazil to have a Community Tool to drag and drop an OLAP Cube.

Today we have it. They are working on this project probably more than 3 years, and it is incredible how the years just passed so fast. 

I know they are not alone anymore in this project, we have a lot of good people working on it.

Thanks again to all the Saiku Team, and keep up the good work!

Some news about the 2.2 version:

Saiku 2.2

Saiku 2.2 is a new major release that includes lot of improvements compared to 2.1.
We've been working very hard to implement new features, fix bugs and improve the general user interaction.
In case we have missed anything, we would appreciate all filed bugs and feature requests in our Issue Tracker. 

What's new in 2.2?

• Speed Boost - Query execution received a massive speed improvement.
• SSAS, Palo, SAP BW Compatibility - We made sure that saiku works perfectly with other OLAP engines.
• Mondrian Roles - Apply role-based security to your Mondrian OLAP cubes.
• Query Scenarios - Change cell values on your resultset and perform basic What-If Analysis.
• Drill-Through - Display or export all fact rows that make up a specific cell in your OLAP resultset.
• Refresh Datasources / Clear Cache - Reload your datasources configuration and clear the cache from within the UI.
• Faster and more robust UI - The user interface was completely rewritten for 2.2 and includes lots of speed improvements and bug fixes.
• Charts - Saiku is now capable to produce some basic charts using CCC by Webdetails.
• Basic Statistics - You can now view some basic statistics (avg, min, max, std. dev, .etc) of your OLAP query.

Eu não consigo conectar o Pentaho no MS SQL Server

Amigo leitor,

Alguns alunos ou até mesmo alguns clientes tentam conectar algum componente da Suite de BI Pentaho com o banco de dados Microsoft SQL Server e não conseguem.

99% das vezes o motivo é a configuração do SQL Server.

VPN Checkpoint funcionando perfeitamente no meu MacBook Pro com Mac OS

Amigo leitor,

Com ajuda de meu amigo Jeff, da Globo.com, resolvi o problema com o meu "cliente VPN" da Checkpoint no meu Mac Book Pro com Mac OS X 10.6.8.

Parece que a Checkpoint, até o presente momento, ainda não resolveu o problema com o "cliente VPN" em computadores com Mac OS 64 Bits.

Depois que você instala o "cliente de VPN" da Checkpoint no Mac, ele não consegue ser inicializado, e acaba dando um erro muito estranho.

Se você buscar na internet sobre este erro, vai receber todos os tipos de "soluções", mas TODAS são furadas.

A solução real é algo super simples:

1) Instale o "cliente de VPN" da Checkpoint no teu Mac;

2) Reinicie o teu Mac, assim que aparecer alguma coisa na tela você deve segurar as teclas 3 e 2 até aparecer a tela para você fazer o login;

Pronto, agora o teu computador é 32 Bits e o "cliente VPN" vai funcionar perfeitamente.

Se você quiser voltar para um sistema 64Bits basta reiniciar o computador e ele volta ao normal.
